Our Mission
Our mission is to support and promote active, adventurous women who DARE to “Age Proud, Grow Bold” and in doing so, galvanize others to do the same.
Our History
Sistership was created in 2015 as a vehicle to promote our mission of women empowering women and girls by competing in the Race to Alaska. Four gritty women, over the age of 50, set out to dismantle age and gender stereotypes. However, our purpose was to prove to ourselves, all active women over 50, that we still had what it took to compete at this level. We also knew, that the race, with over 11-million viewers the inaugural year, was a great place to serve as role models. Our mission was to inspire others to step into the adventure and know that anything’s possible! – regardless of gender or age.
Team Sistership connected with an international community of women and men who believed in their mission and helped them become the first all-women team to complete the race in 2016 and again in 2017. This connection also helped us raise nearly $10,000.00 towards women and girl’s scholarship programs that promoted active lifestyles. Uplifted by this energy, Sistership has since become a company who’s mission is to support and promote the ventures and stories of active women who DARE to “Age Proud, Grow Bold.” By fostering a growing network of active women, we have helped raise over $20,000.00 towards programs and individual scholarships for adventurous women and girls who have the audacity to live boldly.
