"Girls Boat Project" NW Maritime Center

Sistership partnered with the Northwest Maritime Center and raised over $10,000 for scholarships for the “Girls Boat Project” during the team’s 2016 and 2017 Race To Alaska adventures.  Girls, age 12-18,  gain skills and have fun in the maritime trades, both on and off the water. Through woodworking, boatbuilding techniques, longboat training and an overnight sailing adventure, these girls gain self-confidence and a positive attitude towards opportunities for women on and off the water.  Sistership continues to support and promote this incredible opportunity for women and girls to discover their true north.  Funding for the Girls Boat Project comes through the NWMC “Give Like A Girl” Campaign.  If you’d like to join our efforts and donate, click on the link and let them know you are part of The Sistership.
